LCB Kutch nabs alleged mastermind of honey trap case

Bhuj: The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Kachchh West division police has nabbed Ramesh Joshi, the main suspect in a honey trap case in Gandhidham, from a private hospital in Mumbai.

Ramesh Joshi, the accused, has been taken into custody in Bhuj and is expected to be presented in court tomorrow. Anand Thakkar, a hotelier from Gandhidham, had filed a complaint seven months ago, accusing a group of eight individuals of attempting to extort Rs 10 crore from him by threatening to implicate him in a rape case. The investigation into the honey trap case was assigned to the LCB.

The LCB had already nabbed Vijay Relon, Asha Dhori, Kushal Thakkar, and Jenti Thakkar in connection with the case. The alleged mastermind, Ramesh Joshi, was also caught, but he was subsequently admitted to a hospital due to his poor health. He was airlifted to a private hospital in Mumbai. The arrest was postponed when it was discovered that he had suffered a heart attack and was diagnosed with heart blockage during his treatment. Joshi’s anticipatory bail request was denied in both the sessions court and the high court. The LCB team apprehended him once his health condition stabilized.

Three other suspects, Shambhu Joshi (Ramesh Joshi’s elder brother), Manish Mehta, and Haresh Kanthecha from Bharuch, are still at large. DeshGujarat
