Amit Shah launches Rs. 400 crore development works of GMC

Gandhinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah dedicated and performed groundbreaking for Rs. 400 crore development works of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) in his Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. Speaking on this occasion he said that Rs. 16,560 crore in development works have been completed in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in the last four years since he became a Lok Sabha member from here. He said if you exclude the national highway and state highway types of state-level development works, the constituency has witnessed more than Rs. 13,600 crore in development works. He further said that the works worth crores of Rupees are still in progress.

Shah during his visit also launched a Toy bank at Borij. He recalled that in the year 2002 when he was MLA from Sarkhej, he had allocated a grant for electrification in 20 villages of his constituency. However, his grant money was all spent in this and there were many more villages still needing electrification. Just six months after this, the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi launched Jyotigram Yojana for 24-hour power supply to villages. DeshGujarat
