Ahmedabad: During its weekly meeting on Thursday, the standing committee of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) instructed officials to eliminate encroachments along both banks of the Sabarmati riverfront.

Councillors raised concerns that individuals had unlawfully demolished boundary walls at various locations to create unauthorised pathways. It has also been learned that some people are illegally collecting parking fees from visitors.

The standing committee has asked the officials to take appropriate action and ensure regular monitoring of the area to prevent the recurrence of such incidents. DeshGujarat
