Indian Coast Guard rescues stranded fishing boat off Gujarat coast

Porbandar: The Indian Coast Guard rescued a stranded fishing boat off the Gujarat coast. The boat, with 9 people onboard, was stuck in the Arabian Sea due to engine failure.
On 27 May 2023 at 2345 hrs, Maritime Rescue Sub Centre, Porbandar was intimated by Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre (MRCC) Mumbai regarding the stranded Indian fishing boat ‘Rosanna’ (Regd No. IND-TN-15-MM-5524) due to engine failure with 09 crew onboard at about 120 kms off Mangrol, a press statement said.
The statement further said that Indian Coast Guard Ship Shoor, which was on operational patrol, was immediately diverted to provide necessary assistance to the boat. The boat which had suffered the engine defect due to fuel water contamination could not be rectified at sea and therefore Indian Coast Guard Ship Shoor took the boat under tow in difficult weather conditions and rough seas.
