One nabbed for offensive remarks on Hindu deities; locals in Padadhari come on road seeking strict punishment

Rajkot: The local crime branch has arrested one Firoz Amad Jesani in Paddhari, Rajkot, who made derogatory comments against Hindu deities. The incident has caused a stir and anger among the local community which is demanding strict action against the accused.

According to the reports, the accused in Paddhari made obscene remarks against Hindu gods and goddesses, leading to his arrest by the police within a few hours. This incident sparked strong reactions from the local residents. In demand for strict action against the accused, local traders protested by closing their businesses and shops. Local also organized a public procession. The protest caused a temporary disruption on the Rajkot-Jamnagar highway, resulting in a fifteen-minute traffic jam. The police intervened and clarified the situation to the people and cleared the traffic on the highway.

A local leader demanded severe punishment for the accused to prevent future incidents and appreciated the authorities’ assurance to take appropriate action. He also highlighted the unity of the community in dealing with similar situations, thanked the attendees, and announced the closure of all traders until 12 noon.
