Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has opened another shelter home for homeless people.

The newest shelter home has been opened at Katargam near Tapi Pala behind Jantanagar Society, opposite Katargam water works. It has been created in an old office at a cost of Rs. 1.07 crore. The shelter home houses a dormitory room, family room, washing and drying space for clothes, filtered water, bed, bedsheet, blanket, solar water heater, and other facilities.

Mayor Hemali Boghawala after opening this shelter home distributed cloths among poor people through the assistance of Ma Aastha Samajik Vikas Seva Sanstha. DeshGujarat
