Juhapura: The Special Operations Group (SOG) crime team on Thursday night apprehended drug peddlers from the Juhapura area of the city. The team also seized Mephedrone drugs valued at Rs. 1.22 lakh.

During a routine patrol, unarmed head constable Mahendrasingh, accompanied by his team from SOG Crime, received information regarding a person named Anas Shaikh. It was reported that Anas Shaikh was present near Palatial Homes, in front of the Vejalpur Factory AMTS bus stand, engaged in the illegal retail sale of MD drugs.

Responding to the tip-off, the SOG crime team established surveillance at the mentioned location, resulting in the apprehension of individuals involved in drug trafficking. Upon interrogation, the suspect identified himself as Mohmand Anas, also known as Heso Sheikh (23 years old, residing in Daryapur). The team seized a quantity of 12 grams of Mephedrone drugs, equivalent to 200 ml, with an estimated street value of Rs. 1.22 lakh from the possession of Anas alias Heso. The SOG team confiscated the drugs and arrested Anas.

During questioning, Anas revealed that he had obtained the drugs from an individual named Shahrukh, residing in Vejalpur who is allegedly involved in the retail sale of drugs. The SOG team has filed a case against Shahrukh and initiated efforts to locate and apprehend him. DeshGujarat
