Gir Somnath: The Gir Somnath district sessions court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Naranbhai Chudasma, the father of Junagadh Lok Sabha MP, in Veraval based Dr Chag suicide case.

Dr Atul Chag of Veraval committed suicide on 12th February 2023 by hanging himself. A suicide note found at the scene implicated Junagadh MP Rajeshbhai Chudasma and his father, Naranbhai Chudasma, as the cause of his suicide. Dr. Chag’s son, Hitarth, filed a police complaint, leading to the police filing charges against MP Rajeshbhai and his father Naranbhai on May 15, 2023.

In an attempt to avoid arrest, Naranbhai Chudasma submitted an anticipatory bail plea to the sessions court. However, the Gir Somnath district sessions court rejected the plea, citing the seriousness of the crime and the early stage of the investigation. DeshGujarat
