200 Indian fishermen released by Pakistan arrive in Vadodara

Ahmedabad: Around 200 Indian fishermen arrived in Vadodara this morning on a special train from Punjab. These fishermen were released by Pakistani authorities on Saturday, June 3rd.

The fishermen were greeted upon their arrival at the Vadodara railway station early in the morning. Out of the 200 fishermen, 171 are from Gujarat, while the rest are from Diu, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. A team from the Gujarat fisheries department received the fishermen at the Wagah border and accompanied them by train to Vadodara. From there, they will be sent to their respective hometowns, as stated in a government announcement.

The Pakistani Maritime Security Agency had apprehended them near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) off the Gujarat coast in the Arabian Sea these fishermen had entered their waters.
