Gujarat CM inaugurates redeveloped Lal Darwaja bus terminal of AMTS

Sabarmati: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today inaugurated the redeveloped Lal Darwaja bus terminal of Amdavad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) in a function hosted by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

The new Laldarwaja bus terminal is designed on a heritage theme at a cost of around Rs. 9 crore.  The bus terminal has been designed in such a way that the heat is 5 degrees less than outside. The new terminal will benefit 2.25 lakh passengers of AMTS. Lal Darwaja has been the main hub of bus service since the inception of city bus service in the city in 1947. A heritage bus station depicts the history of city bus service from 1947 till date.

The building with a heritage look will has two floors.  It has RCC road and a proper drainage system. The terminal has been decorated with lights. Special marble brought from Rajasthan’s Bharatpur has been used in the construction of the building,  due to which the temperature inside will be as low as 4 to 5 degrees. Seating arrangements and decorative bus shelters have been constructed on different fabrication pipes on 7 platforms. CCTVs have also been installed at all places. The terminus has been decorated with lights. Information about buses passing through the terminus will be displayed on LEDs.

The terminus building will have facilities such as a drinking water facility in the terminus, a control room for grievance redressal, a cash collection cabin, a meeting hall, an office of the director of traffic, a VIP waiting room, electric and solar power cabin. DeshGujarat
