Weather Watch group meet held ahead of monsoon in State capital Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar: The storage of water in North Gujarat and Kutch regions is highest in last 15 years this summer. Sowing in the State is 0.99 percent up compared to normal average. 15 teams of NDRF and 11 teams of SDRF are on stand-by mode for any situation of heavy rains or flood. Due to Biparjoy cyclone, the coastal districts of Gujarat may witness 40-50 km per hour wind speed. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea till 14 June. The boats already in sea are called back to the coast. Light rainfall is predicted during 9-11 June in Saurashtra and South Gujarat regions.

These details were shared by the State government after a meeting of Weather Watch group in Gandhinagar today which was participated by representatives of various agencies like ISRO, IAF, Coast Guard, NDRF, SDRF, Police, health, road & building, education, forest, water supply, GMB, agriculture, animal husbandary, power, fisheries, urban development, CDS, food, GSRTC among others.
