FM Nirmala Sitharaman’s daughter weds PMO official from Gujarat Pratik Doshi in a simple ceremony

New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s son-in-law is a Gujarati officer working with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in the national capital.

In a simple ceremony, Nirmala Sitharaman’s daughter Parakala Vangamayi got married at her home in Bengaluru, Karnataka on Wednesday with Pratik Doshi, who is an Officer on Special Duty (Research & Strategy) in the Prime Minister’s Office. As per the PMO website, Pratik’s job is to provide secretarial assistance to Prime Minister in terms of Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961 with regard to matters including but not restricted to Research & Strategy. Doshi has been working with PMO since 2014. He was elevated to the rank of joint secretary in June 2019.

Vangmayi Parakala is a multimedia journalist with Hindustan Times arm Mint Lounge. As per her website, she writes features across beats including art, media, social policy, and literary culture. She holds an M.A. from the Department of English at the University of Delhi, and M.S. in journalism from the Medill school of journalism, Northwestern University. Her work has also been published in The New Indian Express, The Voice of Fashion, The Hindu, Literary Hub, Hindustan Times, and Pacific Standard.

Vangamayi’s wedding to Pratik took place as per the Brahmin traditions of Udipi Adamaru Mutt and seers were present to bless the bride and groom.
