Gujarat Congress to get new state unit chief and in-charge soon; meetings on in Delhi

Ahmedabad: In the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party has started discussing the appointment of a new Gujarat in-charge and state unit chief.
According to party sources, state party leaders, including Arjun Modhwadia, Amit Chavda, Sailesh Parmar, Siddarth Patel, and Deepak Babaria, have been called to Delhi. Consultations are currently underway between the state leaders and the central leadership to appoint a new state in charge and state unit president.
Deepak Babaria and Paresh Dhanani are the frontrunners for the position of state unit president.
Raghu Sharma, the Gujarat Congress in-charge, resigned after the huge loss in the 2022 assembly election, when the party only managed to secure 17 out of 182 seats. Jagdish Thakor, the state unit president, also expressed his willingness to step down following the loss. DeshGujarat
