Police find out snatched iPhone of Gujarat MLA’s wife within four days

Surat: Police here nabbed a robber who snatched away an iPhone of Congress legislator Tushar Chaudhary’s wife. Police recovered stolen iPhone and nabbed the accused within four days of the incident.
Khedbrahmna Congress MLA Dr. Tushar Chaudhary’s wife Diptiben was on evening walk on 23rd June when an unidentified person arrived on two-wheeler and snatched away her iPhone worth Rs. 60,000. MLA Tushar Chaudhary informed city Police Commissioner directly about this crime, following which the Umra Police nabbed a 27-year old Saurabh Vijaybhai Mundhra, a resident of Saroli area of city. Police also seized a Honda Active two-wheeler which was used for crime.
Victim Dr. Dipti Chaudhary works as physiotherapist in Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) run SMIMER hospital. Chaudharies live in Adhar Shila apartment on Ghod dod road.
Accused Saurabh has claimed he is Commerce graduate from MS University and he belongs to Maheshwari community. He said he had committed this crime for want of money to consume liquor. He said this was his first snatching crime. He said he was not aware that the victim of his crime was wife of a sitting MLA. The accused was nabbed based on his identification through CCTV footage. The accused was previously working as food delivery boy.
