PM Modi flags off Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) – Jodhpur Vande Bharat Express

Sabarmati:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi today virtually inaugurates the Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) – Jodhpur Vande Bharat Express, which will commence regular operations on July 9th, according to the Western Railways. The train will run six days a week, excluding Tuesdays.

With the train number 12462, this semi-high-speed train will depart from Sabarmati (Ahmedabad) at 4:45 pm and arrive in Jodhpur at 10:55 pm on the same day, completing the journey in 6 hours and 10 minutes. The return journey, train number 12461, will leave Jodhpur at 5:55 am and reach Sabarmati at 12:05 pm.

The train will make stops at Mehsana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Falna, and Pali Marwar stations in both directions.

Previously, the fastest train between Jodhpur and Ahmedabad was Train No. 14804/Sabarmati – Jaisalmer Express, which took 7 hours and 40 minutes for the journey. The new Vande Bharat Express will reduce the travel time by 1 hour and 30 minutes, making it the fastest option with a travel time of 6 hours and 10 minutes.

The Vande Bharat Express will also hold the title of the fastest train between Ahmedabad and Palanpur, completing the journey in 1 hour and 53 minutes. The previous record was held by the New Delhi Rajdhani Express, which took 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Additionally, the train will be the fastest between Ahmedabad and Abu Road, taking only 2 hours and 20 minutes compared to the New Delhi Rajdhani Express, which took 2 hours and 50 minutes for the same route. DeshGujarat
