Vadodara: BJP MLA Yogesh Patel led Satyam Shivam Sundaram Samiti in Vadodara has installed a 28 tonne weight Ganesh murti which is claimed to be the biggest Ganesh murti made from single stone.
The murti is 11.25 ft tall. It is installed on permanent basis at Jagnath Mahadev temple in Vadodara.

Ahmedabad city police commissioner has issued a notification putting ban on visarjan(immersion) of murtis made from plaster of paris in rivers and talavs during Ganesh Chaturthi mahotsav.
In connection with Ganesh Utsav which is beginning on 29th of August, city police commissioner has today announced ban on several activities under the Environment act 1986 section 5.

Today is Ganesh Chaturthi, and pandals hosting Ganeshji's idols have started celebrating the festival. One of the Ganesha murtis in Vadaj area of Amdavad is made by household things like buckets, pipe, tumblers etc. Here it is in the photograph above.
