GSECL drops Shinor super critical thermal power project

Vadodara Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd(GSECL) has dropped its proposed 1600 MW Shinor power project in central Gujarat due to land acquisition related problems. GSEC had proposed to set up 800 MW + 800 MW super critical thermal power project in two phase with an estimated investment of Rs 9,000 crore and initiated related procedures in year 2010 for it. BHEL commissions 250-mw thermal power plant in Gujarat

New Delhi State-owned power equipment maker BHEL has commissioned a 250-mw coal-based thermal power plant in Gujarat. The unit has been commissioned at the Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd's (GSECL) Sikka thermal power station (TPS) by Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), on EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) basis, the company said in a regulatory filing on Monday.
