Gandhinagar: Former ADGP (Law & Order) of Gujarat and 1978 batch retired Gujarat cadre IPS AI Saiyed passes away today evening in a private hospital in Ahmedabad due to Covid-19 infection and related complications. Saiyed had headed State Wakf Board. He was also BJP candidate for Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) election in year 2010 from Juhapura. Saiyed had served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) during year 2002 Gujarat riots under then Security Advisor of State KPS Gill.

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has today transferred three IPS officers of year 2013-2014 batches. SP Mahesana Manish Singh has been shifted as Commandant SRPF, Group-4, Pavdi in Dahod district.
SP Porbandar, Dr. Parthrajsinh Gohil has been shifted as SP Mehsana replacing Manish Singh.
DCP Zone-1, Rajkot city, Dr. Ravi Mohan Saini has been shifted as SP, Porbandar.

Gandhinagar: The Appointments Committee of the union Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India for extension in service of Shivanajd Jha (Gujarat cadre 1983 batch IPS officer) for a period of three months beyond April 30 in relaxation of rule of the All India Service in public interest. Jha is Director General of Police (DGP) of Gujarat Police.

Gandhinagar:Gujarat Government has given retrospective promotion to the retired IPS D G Vanzara, who had been acquitted in two of the alleged fake encounter cases including the Ishrat Jahan encounter case.
Notably, Vanzara had retired as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in May 2014 while in jail in connection with three encounter cases.
