Gandhinagar: Slaughter houses in municipality and municipal corporation areas of Gujarat will remain shut during 3-10 September due to Paryushan parva of Jain faith, announced the State government today. 20 August, 2011 The Government of Gujarat has urged the Local Self-Government Institutions and Panchayats to keep slaughter houses closed across the State on the occasion of Janmashtami on August 22, 2011 and Paryushan from August 25 to September 1, 2011 in deference to festivals of the Jain and other communities.
