Ahmedabad: Mahendra Jha, trustee of Jagannathji Temple in Ahmedabad, today told media persons that there would be no elaborate Rath Yatra 2020 this June 23 on the occasion of Ashadhi Bij.
Jha said only three chariots and bare minimum persons would be part of the procession.

Ahmedabad: The 142nd annual edition of Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra from historic Jagannath temple in the city is being held today amid tight security and intermittent showers and a 'sea of devotees' on the route.

Ahmedabad: A total of 94 high resolution CCTV cameras have been fitted at 45 places in the wake of the 142nd Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra to be held in the city on July 4.
According to an AMC release issued today these cameras are connected with optical fiber network.
These camera have also been connected to monitoring control rooms of the AMC, Police control room in Shahibaug. Circuit house, Tambu Chowki, DGP office and CM house in capital Gandhinagar.

Gandhinagar: BJP president and union home minister Amit Shah who is Lok Sabha member from Gandhinagar seat in Gujarat will be on two-day visit to home-state on July 3-4.

A day before the 141st Rath-yatra in the city, police today recovered 16 crude bombs and a rifle from the roof-top of the house of notorious bootlegger Shafiq Sanghi alias Guddu near Rajpur toll-point in Gomatinagar area.
'A 32 bore pistol and 16 bombs, some bottles and kerosene were found during a search at around mid-night,' PI Gomatipur C B Tandel said today.
