Ahmedabad, 29 December 2011 Over 8,000 villages voted today to elect their Sarpanch and panchayat body. Gujarat has total 18,000 villages. Of them over 10,500 were to elect their new Sarpanch today. Deesa, 20 December 2011 Hit by a crop glut, hundreds of farmers participating in a huge protest rally on Tuesday dumped 100 tractors full potatoes on the highway in Deesa town of north Gujarat.
