Gandhinagar: Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, today announced that Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, has received a Letter of Award from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) on 7th November 2019 to develop a 50MW solar project in Dholera Solar Park in Gujarat. Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today announced special relaxations for MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) sector industrial units in solar policy declared by the State government in year 2015. The government said this decision has been taken to encourage the industries to scale up solar power generation.

Gandhinagar: Gujarat is No.1 in installation of rooftop solar projects with installed capacity of 261.97 Mega Watt (MW) as on 23 July, 2019. Total rooftop solar installation in India stands at 1,700.54 MW. Gujarat is followed by Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu with 198.52 MW and 151.62 MW respectively. Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power Shri R. K. Singh provided the information in Rajya Sabha on July 23, 2019 while replying to a question raised by MP Shri Parimal Nathwani.

New Delhi: NTPC Ltd's Kawas has become first power unit in the state to install 1MW grid-connected floating solar project, which is likely to be commissioned in April 2019.
Debashish Das, NTPC director, Kawas, told reporters, “The work to set up the grid-connected floating solar project on Kawas campus was going on for the past six months and is nearing completion. Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today in a statement said that Gujarat would be the first state in the country to implement a 'Small scale distributor solar project' policy.
The policy will be effective for next five years. It will pave a way for setting up 500 kw to 4 mw capacity small solar projects. Ahmedabad: Arvind Limited today announced its plans to reduce carbon emissions by 30 per cent with the installation of rooftop solar projects across its Ahmedabad, Santej and Bangalore facilities and by shifting from coal to renewable biomass for boilers.
