A 2800 sqm cargo terminal project includes 1400 sqm built up portion, 320 sqm office area, 2 strong rooms for precious goods, 1 cold storage for storage of perishable agro products, 34 staff members including security persons, 1 X-ray machine, 1 explosive trace detector, 36 CCTV cameras and 50,000 mt annual capacity.

Surat: Another carrier has been held at Surat airport for gold smuggling.An accused Shabad Khan is from Mumbai. He had hided 90 tola gold in liquid form in his rectum. Shabad arrived at Surat airport through a flight from Sharjah in United Arab Emirates (USE). He was held by custom staff after his movement was found suspicious.

Surat: Spicejet SG 3722 (DH8) Bhopal - Surat Q400 aircraft carrying 43 passengers overshoot at Surat airport today at 8.20 pm. All passengers and crew were evacuated safely. The aircraft overshot the Vesu side of eunway during landing.
