Surendranagar: Local trade and business associations have decided to open the shops and markets only till 2.00 pm with effect from June 30 on voluntary basis due to increasing number of Covid-19 cases. The decision will be in effect for a week for now. The shops will open at 9 am and shut at 2 pm.

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has clubbed two municipalities with each other in three different cases.
With this, Surendranagar-Dudhrej and Vadhwan municipalities will be one single municipality and it will be called Surendranagar-Dudhrej-Vadhwan municipality with Surendranagar as headquarters.

Ahmedabad:The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat police today nabbed a CGST inspector and his peon taking bribe of Rs 75 thousand from a businessman in his office premises in Surendranagar city.

Surendranagar: Four under-trial prisoners including the one arrested under charges of murder escaped from a sub-jail in Surendranagar district of Gujarat in the wee hour today, police said.

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has sanctioned Rs.1.48-crore to repair three big check dams on Bhogavo River in Chuda taluka in Surendranagar built under Sujalam Sufalam Yojna in 2005-06 and damaged in floods following heavy rains in 2017.
About Rs.50-lakh was sanctioned for each of the three check dams at Samdhiyali, Juni Morwad and Navi Morwad that includes wing walls, embankment, body wall, apron and leakage from bottom.
