Fitness test for 20 lakh heavy commercial vehicles to start from April 1

Gandhinagar: As mandated under the new vehicle scrappage policy, about 20 Lakh heavy commercial vehicles will have to undergo an automated fitness test. Failing the test two consecutive times will lead to the scrapping of that vehicle. Ahmedabad: The Gujarat state transport department has given nod for setting up three registered automobile scrapping facilities in the state. Out of these three, two facilities will get erected in Kheda and one in Bhavnagar, with an estimated cost of around 17 crores per facility.
