In a partial relief for the newly-elected chairman of Mehsana Dairy Vipul Chaudhary, the Gujarat High Court today set aside the order prohibiting him from contesting elections of cooperative institutes for six years.
However, the court said the previous order of March 2015 under which he was disqualified for three years will remain in effect.

Hardening its stand against cooperative societies and banks in the state that are functioning without holding elections in specified time, the Gujarat government today announced appointment of "custodians" on such bodies to initiate the election process.
Around 100 such cooperative institutions have not conducted elections even after the expiry of the five-year term of the respective management committees, said state Health Minister and government spokesperson Nitin Patel.

Sh Vipul Chaudhary has now been removed also as Chairman of Mehsana Milk Union subsequent to the Supreme Court’s judgement which confirmed his removal as Chairman of Gujarat Milk Federation (GCMMF). He failed to get any relief from Appellate Authority, Government of Gujarat as well as the Gujarat High Court and was directed to vacate his office as Chairman, Mehsana Milk Union.

The Gujarat High Court today rejected a petition by Doodhsagar dairy Chairman Vipul Chaudhary seeking quashing of a show-cause notice by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
