New Delhi: Wind power projects are set up in the country, including in the state of Rajasthan, on the basis of commercial principles taking into account wind resource, land availability, transmission infrastructure, etc.

ReNew Power Limited today announced commissioning of Phase-1 (126 MW) of its 250 MW wind project located in Kutch district of Gujarat.
This project is part of the India’s first wind power reverse auction concluded by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) in February 2017 under the 1000 MWInter-State Transmission System (ISTS). Ahmedabad: A Request for Proposal (RFP) for India's first offshore wind power plant is likely to happen next month, said Raj Gopal, Principal Secretary or Energy and Petrochemicals, Government of Gujarat on the sidelines of CII solar conclave.
'Studies are over, area has been identified and RFP which is under preparation by the Government of Gujarat and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, should happen next month for the 1000 MW off shore wind project,' Raj Gopal said.

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government will announce wind-solar hybrid power policy, said State Chief Minister Vijay Rupani while speaking in Surat today during an interaction with private news channel.
Rupani said this in reference to government's plan to set up a 5000 MW solar power park on coastal wasteland near Dholera. Rupani said the tender for desalination plant at Jodiya in Saurashtra has been approved and another tender for similar plant in Dahej area of Central Gujarat is also out.

Mumbai: KP Energy Ltd has partnered with a European wind turbine maker to execute a 300-MW wind project in the state of Gujarat.
KP Energy announced the signing of a letter of intent (LoI) with this manufacturer on Tuesday, without disclosing its name.
The company said that it plans to install 130 wind turbines of 2.3 MW each at its site in Hajipir, Kutch. It has been working on land acquisition there for over a year now and will also be deploying LiDAR technology for wind measurements.

Mumbai: Suzlon Energy Ltd (BOM:532667) said on Monday it has secured turnkey contracts for 500 MW of wind power capacity, won under a recent tender held by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
The Indian wind turbine manufacturer said in a bourse statement the two projects have capacities of 300 MW and 200 MW, respectively. They will involve the installation of 238 units of Suzlon’s S111 140-metre (459-ft) wind turbines with capacities of 2.1 MW each.

Gandhidham: A meeting of Trustees of Kandla Port Trust(KPT) in a meeting on Tuesday gave approval to Rs 142 crore 14 mw wind energy generation project by Suzlon. The project will come up in Saurashtra region at Chotila and Amreli. As per an estimate KPT will be able to get power through this plant that it needs for all its operations.
